Dr. Wagnild was born and raised in South Minneapolis. He graduated from the
University of Minnesota with degrees in Genetics and a Doctorate in Dentistry.
Wanting to further his dental training, he did a General Practice
Residency at the Medical Center in Burlingtion, Vermont. Dr. Wagnild began this practice 21
years ago, recently moving to a larger space in the same building.
His role as a neighborhood dentist allows him to actively
listen, problem solve, treatment plan and stay in touch with the many
neighbors and friends who have become patients. The challenge of
providing the best care possible is highly rewarding. Dr.
Wagnild feels this is an honor and a source of great
pride. He will often say he has the best patients and staff in the Twin Cities. Providing
excellent treatment and the quality of care that his patients have come to
expect, has been and will continue to be the main goal for his practice.
Dr. Wagnild is a member of the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association and the Chicago Dental Society.
Dr. Wagnild is married, has three children and an English Springer
Spaniel. The family has lived and been involved within the community since 1985. While he enjoys
time with friends and family, reading and studying about WWII, he always finds time to fix almost anything.
Dr. Carol Akers DDS
Dr. Akers has officially been part of our practice since January 2007.
A 2006 graduate of the University of Louisville School of Dentistry,
she moved to the TwinCities area to be near her family. She was born in Seattle,
Washington and was raised in Kansas City, Kansas. As the daughter of a physician,
she grew up knowing she wanted to become a healthcare provider.
It was while attending Wheaton College in Illinois, majoring in
Biology, that she decided upon Dentistry. Dr. Akers likes
dentistry because it is a challenging, detail oriented way to help
people. What she finds most enjoyable about practicing dentistry
is that it is one of the few areas in healthcare which is mostly
community based. As a dentist, she is able to take time to
talk with patients while also providing quality care. It
allows her to get to know and treat an entire family. Dr. Akers
feels this compliments her philosophy, which is, to provide superior
treatment in a caring environment. This is the environment she
has found at Cedar Hills Dental Center.
She is a member of the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association and the
Christian Medical and Dental Association.
She lives in the area. Dr. Akers enjoys walking,
restaurant exploration, crafting and cooking.
